This is a test for users and regulars of the /r/YAPms community on Reddit to assess ther alignment on the YAPms community's divides, disputes and drama. You will be presented by a statement, and then you will answer with your opinion on the statement, from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree, with each answer slightly affecting your scores. At the end of the quiz, your answers will be compared to the maximum possible for each value, thus giving you a percentage. Answer honestly!
There are questions in the test.
There are four independent axes — Account Age, Partisanship, Subreddit Balance and Rules Reform — and each has two opposing values (poles) assigned to them. They are:
POST-ASM
Those with high Post-ASM scores are usually newer users who have entered the subreddit sometime after the coup against /u/asm99. They are unaware of most of the goings-on of the subreddit's old culture and have likely arrived in the last 6 months.
NEW OR OLD
ILLCOMM GENERATION
Those with high Illcomm scores remember /u/IllCommunication4938, a user which today is spoken of only in hushed praise as an ancient founder and amusing character. He is seen as a hallmark of old YAPms culture, and those with a high score here probably have been around for more than a year.
DEMOCRAT
Those with a high Democrat score tend to support the Democratic party for whatever reason they do, especially within the scope of electoral politics.
PARTISANSHIP
REPUBLICAN
Those with a high Republican score tend to support the Republican party for whatever reason they do, especially within the scope of electoral politics.
FIFTY-FIFTYISM
Those scoring high in Fifty-Fiftyism believe the subreddit was better when it was split 50/50 between right-wing and left-wing users, and believe that aspiring towards that goal — or enforcing it through moderation — is an ideal to aspire to.
BALANCE
WILL OF THE PEOPLE
Those scoring high in Will Of The People believe the subreddit is at its best when it represents the actual mood of the country, or whatever the political demographics of the subreddit become naturally. They are opposed to ideological purges and any kind of enforced “balance”.
COMMUNITY OVER TOPIC
High Community Over Topic scores believe the community of YAPms is more enjoyable than talking exclusively about elections and maps. They may aspire to one day change Rule 1 to allow further discussions.
RULE REFORM
TOPIC OVER COMMUNITY
High Topic Over Community scores believe that the community of YAPms is less important than keeping the subreddit relevant and coherent. They defend the current system and believe it is balanced correctly.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ contact /u/hookofholland on Reddit! he’d be happy to chat.
