DRValues is, in essence, a detailed political quiz that attempts to assign percentages for sixteen different political values, each in a dichotomy, totaling eight axes. You will be presented by a statement, and then you will answer with your opinion on the statement, from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree, with each answer slightly affecting your scores. At the end of the quiz, your answers will be compared to the maximum possible for each value, thus giving you a percentage. Answer honestly!
There are questions in the test.
There are eight independent axes - Source of Legitimacy, Orientation of Historical Change, Epistemic Grounding, Anthropology of Desire, Structure of Governance, Political Economy, Doctrine and Interpretation, and lastly, Scope of Civilizational Mission — and each has two opposing values (poles) assigned to them. They are:
POPULIST
Those with high Populist scores believe legitimate political authority arises from the will, intuition, and character of the common people. They tend to trust broad civic participation and bottom-up pressures more than elite stewardship.
LEGITIMACY
ARISTOCRATIC
Those with high Aristocratic scores believe legitimacy flows from excellence, hierarchy, and the guidance of capable elites. They view leadership as a responsibility of the best-qualified, not a mandate of the majority.
REVOLUTIONARY
High Revolutionary scorers see transformative rupture as necessary for renewal. They view entrenched systems as obstacles to overcome and believe decisive action—sometimes disruptive—is essential for building a new order.
CHANGE
REACTIONARY
High Reactionary scorers believe stability, restoration and tradition are the path to social health. They favor inherited forms, traditional arrangements, and the steady continuity of institutions rather than dramatic change.
SECULAR
Those scoring high in Secular value empirical observation, rational inquiry, and worldly reasoning as the foundations of truth. They tend to view religious or mystical claims with skepticism or treat them as private rather than authoritative.
EPISTEME
MYSTICAL
High Mystical scorers believe truth is not exhausted by empirical methods. They place importance on intuition, spirituality, symbolism, and sacred insight as essential to understanding reality and guiding society.
PURITAN
High Puritan scorers believe human desire must be restrained, cultivated, or disciplined to protect moral character and social order. They tend to support strong norms, personal restraint, and moral guardrails.
DESIRE
LIBERTINE
High Libertine scorers view desire as a natural, creative force that should be freely expressed. They emphasize personal exploration, enjoyment, and the pursuit of experience as forms of growth and self-actualization.
AUTHORITARIAN
High Authoritarian scorers believe firm authority and centralized decision-making are essential for stability and effective governance. They value order, obedience, and the power to enforce collective standards.
GOVERNANCE
LIBERTARIAN
High Libertarian scorers believe authority should be limited and accountable. They emphasize individual autonomy, skepticism of coercion, and strong protections for personal and civil freedoms.
CAPITALIST
Those with high Capitalist scores favor free exchange, private property, and market mechanisms as sources of prosperity and innovation. They emphasize voluntary cooperation and economic independence.
ECONOMY
SOCIALIST
High Socialist scorers believe the economy should serve collective needs and uphold social welfare. They favor redistribution, shared responsibility, and safeguards against economic inequality.
ORTHODOX
High Orthodox scorers trust established traditions, doctrines, and interpretive authorities as repositories of wisdom. They believe inherited teachings deserve deference and continuity across generations.
DOCTRINE
HERETICAL
High Heretical scorers believe truth emerges through questioning, reinterpretation, and departure from established authorities. They favor alternative systems of thought, personal insight, and doctrinal innovation, even if it may be framed as the rediscovery of more enduring, older tradition.
PARTICULARIST
High Particularist scorers value local identity, rooted culture, and self-determination. They support national or communal independence, cohesion, and skepticism toward expansion beyond one’s own sphere.
MISSION
IMPERIALIST
High Imperialist scorers believe their civilization has a mandate to project influence, expand, or shape the world beyond its borders. They emphasize ambition, universal mission, and outward-facing destiny.
